who and why.

i want to tell you about

the magnificent, reckless love of a King for His kingdom
the immeasurable worth of a human soul
the hand of an Artist
the hope that one day He will make all things new
the concentric waves that spread out further and further
the pain & beauty of pilgrimage
the road
the valleys and high places
eternity

i am

a seeker of Jesus [first]
a seeker of justice [second]
Tamil on the inside

i am also

a listener
an artist
an old-fashioned girl

i love India. after India, i love

wild elegance
fractured light
the sea
the South
community
conviction
kairos

i am called

to embrace the charge of Isaiah 58
to speak for those who cannot
to pursue the eradication of exploitation
to care for the destitute in their affliction
to tell the untold story
to give love and mercy to the least of these

i am inspired by

Amy Carmichael
Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Mother Teresa
Audrey Hepburn
and so very many more unsung heroes.

cheers.

If there was a definition for “lovely girl” in the English dictionary, there would be the name “Noelle Garnier” right beside it, just as an example for the reader to keep in mind. :) I. absolutely. love. all. of. your. postings. Why I didn’t subscribe to this blog earlier, I do not know, but I shan’t waste another moment! The thoughtfulness put into this passion for beauty and life is inspiring to say the least… like a teacup full of sweetness and surprises. ;)

Noelle, this is Noel. Your blog is truly beautiful. I am glad you included quotes from C.S. Lewis, which is one of my favorite authors. I have a post about Mother Theresa’s quotes also. Take care!

Hey, Noelle! I have a quick question… mind me asking how you made your header the way you did? I love it and would like to try out a few ideas on my own blog but have no clue where to start. :)

    • 12 November, 2011 1:49 pm

      RuthAnne,

Certain WP themes have more customization options than others. This one (Vigilance) has the option for designing a custom header. Basically, I created my header in Photoshop Elements according to the dimensions (I think they’re indicated on the header page), saved as .jpg, and uploaded it to the customization page. Sometimes it takes a few tries to get the dimensions just how you want them, but it’s pretty simple. I’m not sure how much your theme will allow you to customize. If your theme includes the option to NOT display blog title, start by removing the text title, then upload your own header where you currently have a photo.

Hope this helps you out! :) -Noelle

    Noelle,

My roommate stumbled on your blog and insisted I check it out. You see, India has a big part of my heart. I have never been there, but I hope one day He will lead me there.

Thank you for sharing about your travels, lessons from God, what He is sharing with you of His heart. It is so beautiful!

I look forward to reading more…

Hello Noelle, my name is Grace. I’ve been following your blog for awhile now, and thought I’d finally comment! I came to your blog via Melanie’s blog (foreverhisservant.blogspot.com). Noelle, I share your love and passion for India–I want nothing more than to serve my Jesus there.
I have a few questions I’d like to ask you, if you are able to answer them. You can e-mail me at graceinchristforever@gmail.com. May the Lord bless you as you continue to serve Him!
